With my deep interest in social media, creating viral content and watching it spread; being paid to do what I love is pretty awesome. I’ve been in South Africa for 2 months now and have gotten to work with some pretty huge clients, one’s that I certainly couldn’t imagine working with at the age of 18 and certainly not leading their Social Strategies.
I’ve come to love the topic after finding it to be a great way to build backlinks and buzz, and basically want to get everything written down in an e-book or site section that will be updated every few months (a bit like SEOBook). Whether this will be free or paid I’m still unsure, I’m thinking towards the free option.
I have a lot of topics in mind and a lot of them have already been written but I would like to know what else you guys would like to see in the Ebook, so please feel free to leave a comment below, you might just get a mention in the credits and thank you’s.

I think the best would be to write about each different social network telling how to properly do social media marketing one each.
Maybe instead of offering as a PDF you can offer it as content (as a blog post), I think that would be the best, you will get more links and popularity that way. (Obviously you can also offer the pdf version)
I would definitely like to hear more about your personal experiences with the huge clients. It would be great to know if the (fairly) simple techniques we use on blogs works with major corporations.
I’d like to hear more about some of the methods you’ve recommended for rewarding your readers, including some that work, and maybe even some that didn’t work. I’ve made a free eBook for my readers which has been pretty popular, but I’m always looking for new ways to reward my readers, or encourage others to become readers. And cost is an important factor, as well.
Thanks!
I think this is an excellent idea. Being a fan of your blog, I can’t wait to see all the content you include.
What I would like to see is your vision towards the future of Social Networking and Marketing and how you think everyone should prepare.
I think the best education will be from examples of campaigns that have worked (and not worked). The more examples the better; similar to your recent post on Viperchill. Perhaps you could look at a campaign where pure SEO was the focus, then campaigns thats were focusing more on brand building and traffic generation, and one where you had a piece of viral content and how you went about promoting it.
I’d also be very interested in your thoughts on how social media will affect the future of web search
Finally any way or methods of quantifying how well a social media campaign is going; ways to monitor how wide spread a viral campaign is reaching.
It would be great, as Esteban said, that you write about each Social Network and what works and doesn’t work with it. And it would be great if you offer it in a form of PDF.
Not sure if it is possible (given client relationships etc), but it would be interesting to see how you and your client evaluating social media opportunities. Perhaps what the reasons were you chose one over another based on client/business needs.
Definitely listing what works and what works is valuable, but it can sometimes get murky based on how things are positioned. I think everyone is interested in best practices though.
Hey Glen,
First off, I just want you to know that I have thoroughly enjoyed your blog. I am a frequent visitor, but this is actually my first time to make a comment.
I love the idea of creating a comprehensive ebook around social media. I’d love to see an overview of which niche social media sites you feel are worthwhile and how to use these to leverage yourself onto the larger social media sites like Digg and delicious.
Mixx is becoming one of my new favorite social media sites. Any thoughts on it?
I would also love to hear your strategies on how to keep up with the latest news. I’ve been using Google Reader but it has started running at a snail’s pace so I think I’m going to have to find a new feed reader.
Have you incorporated Yahoo Pipes into any of your news tracking?
Can’t wait to read your new book

@Kim re: News feeds
RSS feeds were a real pain for me until I started using the Firefox mod, Flock (http://www.flock.com), its got a really easy-to-use interface in dealing with feeds on your home page, and you can keep (most of) your Firefox add ons.
Thanks for the tip Mark!
